Appeal for information after damage at club

MINDLESS yobs caused thousands of pounds worth of damage during a “devastating” burglary at a Clay Cross football club.

Police are investigating after offenders broke into the changing rooms at Parkhouse FC on Mill Lane.

They caused extensive damage and stole property including copper pipes and taps during the incident, which happened sometime between 8.45pm on Friday and 7.45am on Saturday.

Lee Watson, a spokesman for the club, who discovered the damage, said: “They’ve caused several thousand pounds worth of damage.

“It’s just devastating and heart-wrenching. There’s no need for it all.

“We’ve been working so hard to build up this club – and now this.”

Despite the crime, the determined team played on Saturday and won the game.

Anyone with information should call Derbyshire Police on 0345 123 33 33 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
