Appeal for information after 18-year-old is allegedly pushed into alleyway and robbed in Chesterfield

Police are appealing for information after a woman was allegedly pushed into an alleyway and robbed in Chesterfield on New Year’s Day.

The incident occurred between 4am and 4.15am on January 1, when the 18-year-old victim was making her way home.

She had left a bar in the town centre and was walking up Corporation Street toward the Vibe Bar where she tried to catch a taxi.

She walked towards an estate agent on the corner of Holywell Cross to flag a taxi when she was pushed into the alleyway next to the shop.

A man held her by her shoulders against the wall and demanded her belongings.

The victim handed over her mobile phone and the man grabbed her jacket and made off with it down the alleyway towards the car parks.

The suspect is described as white, in his early 20s, approximately 5ft 9ins and of average build. He was wearing a dark hooded top and described as having a very deep voice.
