Appeal after thefts from cars in the Hope Valley

Police are appealing for information after thefts from cars in the Hope Valley.

Between 2.30pm and 4.45pm on Saturday, the window of a Volkswagen Golf parked at Furness Quarry in Stoney Middleton Dale was smashed. Thieves searched the car and stole a rucksack containing clothing, a Leatherman pen knife and a first aid kit from within.

On the same afternoon, offenders smashed the window of a blue Vauxhall Corsa that was also parked at the quarry and cash, a Garmin sat nav and a pair of Karrimor walking boots were taken.
