Appeal after man assaulted on Darley Dale street

Police are appealing for witnesses following an alleged assault in Darley Dale.

At around 1.50pm on Saturday, July 23, a 55-year-old man was walking along Station Road in Darley Dale when he was approached by another man.

The man shouted at the victim before tackling him to the ground, causing injury.

The offender then walked off towards the cricket pitch at Darley Bridge and on towards Winster.

The offender was described as white, aged in his 30s and around 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall.

He was of stocky build and wore a burgundy coloured top.
