Anti–social behaviour at a minimum this Halloween

Anti-social behaviour was scared off this Halloween thanks to trick or treaters in the areas of Hathersage, Bradwell, Eyam and Grindleford.

Police received no calls for service on the evening of Thursday, October 31, which saw children taking part in special Halloween activities hosted by local youth clubs.

Youngsters were invited to attend fancy dress discos funded by Derbyshire Dales District Council across Hathersage, Bradwell, Eyam and Grindleford.

Officers from Hathersage Safer Neighbourhood Team took to the streets to scare off anti-social behaviour and also to hand out sweets to well behaved trick or treaters.

PCSO Anthony Boswell from the Safer Neighbourhood policing team said: “We headed out on the evening to patrol the streets and also dropped by at a number of the youth events.

“The evening was a success which saw no calls for service and the kids seemed to have a great time at the discos.

“It is all thanks to local communities and agencies coming together to put events like this in place to make the occasion enjoyable for all”.
