Animal rights group urges people to shun circus in Derbyshire over Easter
The Animal Defenders International (ADI) group is urging residents not to attend a travelling circus in Dronfield.
Circus Mondao will be at the showfield at Bowshaw roundabout from Friday until Sunday, April 8.
Its performances include camels, horses, llamas and ponies.
Jan Creamer, president of ADI, said: "We have repeatedly documented the suffering and abuse of animals in circuses.
"Circuses simply cannot meet the needs of animals in small, mobile accommodation.
"You can help stop the suffering - don't go to a circus with animals."
However, the established family circus stresses that it loves and cares for its animals and is upset at the attention that such opposition attracts, including protests outside performances.
