Airport issues ash cloud warning

EAST Midlands Airport is calling on passengers to check with their airlines to find out if they could be affected by a drifting cloud of ash after the eruption of the Grimsvotn volcano in Iceland.

An airport spokesman said: “Passengers travelling to Scotland are advised to check with their airline for the latest information.

“All other flights to and from East Midlands Airport continue to operate as normal.

“The airport will continue to monitor the situation very closely and provide further information to passengers should anything change.”
