A public consultation into the redevelopment of the former Biwater Works site is to be held.

St. Modwen, who bought the 204 acre Clay Cross site in July, have planning consent for up to 980 new homes, employment space and a hotel.

The event will be held on Friday, March 28 at Clay Cross Social Centre, Market Street, Chesterfield, between 3-6.45pm and will give local residents and interested parties the opportunity to view the proposals.

David Dodge, senior residential development surveyor at St. Modwen, said: “We are now looking to vary the existing application to meet current demand from house builders and retailers, including a discount food store and a family pub operator.”
