19-year-old man dies after car ‘flips’ on Peak District road

A 19-year-old man has died after the car he was travelling in as a passenger lost control and ‘flipped’ on a major Sheffield road.

At around 10:15pm last night, Saturday, December 19, emergency services were called to a collision involving a silver Ford Fiesta on Hathersage Road.

It is believed the 17-year-old driver of the car lost control on the bend, causing the car to flip.

The passenger, a 19-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time, who may have witnessed the collision or has dash-cam footage.
