Over 15,000 people turned out for at Rectory Fields for this year’s Ashover Show.

The 84th instalment of the annual event was held with a backdrop of glorious sunshine.

The show – which has become Derbyshire’s premier one-day show – featured dozens of horticultural, livestock and agricultural competition.

Show secretary Jackie Twilley says the day was a huge success, with the weather playing its part also.

She said: “We had an excellent day with over 15,000 turning up.

“We only finished at around 8pm so it was a long day.

“There was good trade and it was very busy, but a very impressive turnout.

“All areas were well-attended such as the agricultural classes, which were full.

“The weather also played its part and it was baking - some could say it was too hot!”
