Y6 children at Bradwell Junior School have been taking part in Bikeability Training.
Bikeability is ‘cycling proficiency’ for the 21st century, designed to give the next generation the skills and confidence to ride their bikes on today’s roads. The scheme is funded centrally and provides schools with Access to highly qualified instructors who tailor the programme to suit the needs of the children based on their local environment. It is an excellent opportunity for children to get active as well as learn strategies and skills for keeping themselves safe on the roads. Headteacher Kim Attwood said “Once the children have completed the programme they are more confident and secure on their bikes. This is so important in a village like Bradwell where we have lots of twisty and dangerous roads. They are learning a real life saving skill.”
