Sunny sounds to capture hearts on Valentine's Day

Entertainers are offering the perfect way to escape the cold winter weather and celebrate Valentine's Day.

Senegalese multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Amadou Diagne and his UK based band Group Yakar bring their unique style of music to Crich’s Glebe Field Centre on February 14.

Their sound incorporates Afro-beat, blues, jazz funk, traditional West African praise singing and rock.

The six musicians presents a colourful and energetic show featuring a mix of self-penned songs and traditional tunes from Senegal.

Amadou sings soulful, bluesy numbers delivered with an honest intensity that reflects on the joys and hardships of life.

His honeyed vocals are accompanied by some of the UK’s top world-musicians who play guitar, bass, keyboard, and several unusual percussive instruments from West Africa and Europe, delivering some of the best African percussion you will hear in the UK today.
