This pub at Todwick crossroads is a local landmark.

Folk drive past it every day. But it’s a good destination for Sunday lunch. No less than five roasts are carved up and served with all the trimmings - fresh vegetables, large home-baked Yorkshire pudding, crisp roast potatoes, mashed potatoes and gravy.

The Backyard Grill specialises in quality fresh meat - one of the partners in the venue, and the Station pub, is village butcher Gary Lomas. Its Sunday lunch is a meat-feast carvery. It starts at noon and offers a selection of quality cooked meat from Gary, the in-house butcher, plus seasonal vegetables, Yorkshires and potatoes, all for the bargain price of £5.95. It’s a popular dining destination for families, as under fives eat for free and children over five pay £3.95.

There’s also a singer to entertain lunchers. Advance bookings advised.
