For most couples, it will be the happiest day of their lives - but for some it could turn out to be the worst of times.

A domineering mum, tearful aunt, reluctant groom and crying bride don’t scream happy ever after.

And so it was in the comedy Sailor Beware!, presented by Bolsover Drama Group in the Assembly Rooms.

Louise Sutton commanded the stage as the domineering mother of the bride-to-be, excelling in a marathon role which spared her little time off stage.

Chrissy Smith ramped up the comedy as the aunt who had been left stranded at the altar years age in an episode referred to as great sorrow.

Istvan Koszegi played a likeable groom-to-be who got cold feet the night before his wedding.

And in one of her biggest roles, Lianne Brunt was the pretty bride-to-be who very nearly didn’t get her man.
