The main attraction of the national park is hiking and hill climbing. There are plenty of guided tours, but feel free to go for a walk unsupervised if you feel confident enough.

If walking is a too slow for you, then cycling may be a better idea. The Peak District contains multiple cycling paths, as well as bikes for hire. These include both powered and electric bikes.

In Castleton and Stoney Middleton, there is the option to partake in caving. It’s unadvisable to do this alone, but you can join a guided tour if you wish. Among the caves to crawl through is Titan Cave, the UK’s highest natural cavern.

In Hathersage and Cromford, you can partake in rock climbing if you fancy something more physically challenging. Indoor climbing walls are also provided, alongside the many outdoor rock faces to scale.
