There’s something for all types of dogs on this list. Whether they’re a bundle of energy or an old plodder, there’s something on here that they’ll be able to enjoy – and hopefully, you will too!
Here is our guide to some great places to enjoy the fresh air with your dog across north Derbyshire...
1. Linacre Reservoirs
This is closer to a scenic walk than a gruelling hike, but you'll be hard pressed to find a more idyllic location in the UK. Although the reservoirs are man-made, the natural beauty of Linacre will put you at peace. It's recommended for less spritely dogs due to this, but any dog will have a good time here. Photo: Google
2. Kinder Moorland
Located in Edale, the Kinder Moorland trail is guaranteed to tire out even the most dynamic of dogs. It's very long and very hilly, so make sure you're prepared for that. If you can brave it, you'll be generously rewarded with some absolutely stunning landscapes - it's the British countryside at its finest. Photo: -
3. Stanage Edge
This is another tricky walk, for a couple of reasons - not only is it fairly long at nine miles, it also contains plenty of rough terrain that can be difficult to navigate. Still, if you and your pup are up to the challenge, give it a go. Photo: -
4. Heights of Abraham
Barring the cable car tour (can't imagine that'd be very fun for a dog), there's plenty to see here. Again, it's more of a scenic walk than a challenging one - but with so many sights to see, it can't be overlooked. Photo: -
