Group editor Graeme Huston and reporters Dan Hobson, pictured, and Jon Cooper will join dozens of cyclists for the 55 mile charity ride around the Peak District.

The trio is urging others to join them and take advantage of the event’s early-bird discount £20 entry available until April 26. Entry afterwards costs £22.

Jon said: “This is the fourth annual Flagg Challenge for Ashgate Hospice and we hope it will help raise thousands of pounds for a very worthy cause that helps ill people and families across Derbyshire.”

The ride sets off from the Chesterfield-based hospice from 9am, on Sunday, July 26, with breathtaking views including Chatsworth House and climbs through Sheldon, Birchover and Stanton-in-the-Peak.

Entrants receive sponsor forms, fundraising tips and maps. The route includes Baslow, Ashford-in-the-Water, Flagg, Monyash, and Rowsley before returning to the hospice. There is also an alternate 25-mile ride setting off from the hospice to Ashford-in-the-Water and back.

Entry can be made via http://www.ashgatehospicecare.org.uk/events/flaggchallenge/ or via events at www.ashgatehospicecare.org.uk. For information contact reporter Jon Cooper on 01246 504524 and [email protected] or the hospice’s Charlotte Gratton on 01246 567250 or [email protected].
