Lots of success for auction house

A success rate 24 per cent higher than the national average has put Blundells Auction House among the UK’s top property auction sellers.

So far this year they have sold 84 per cent of property lots up for sale at four auctions compared to 60 per cent nationally.

Lucy Crapper, property auctioneer at Blundells Auction House, said: “The success of the first four auctions at Blundells has proved that auctions are a successful way to sell your home in a very difficult market.

“For people that have a property with unusual specifications or a plot of land, an auction can be a great way of generating interest and a quick sale.

“Our success rate is almost double the private treaty sale rate and we are really proud to be one of the country’s top auction houses.

“In the four years Blundells Auction House has been trading there has been a marked change in the types of property going under the hammer.

“The selection of properties has widened enormously and many more people are seeing auction as their sale route of choice.

“Now modern houses, probate properties, bungalows, vacant buy to let holiday homes, tenanted properties and large residences are appearing alongside regular refurbishment lots, land, commercial units and building projects.

“The increased variety is bringing new buyers into our auction rooms and extending the appeal of the process to a much wider audience, who can see benefits of buying at auction.”

Successful sales this year have included the iconic Grade Two listed Park Lodge, at Millhouses, which sold for £376,000 – £26,000 more than its £350,000 guide price.
