13 of the most popular houses on the market right now in Chesterfield as stamp duty holiday extended to June

Lockdown living has left many Chesterfield people tired of the same old four walls and dreaming of a new home.

And Chancellor Rishi Sunak has confirmed that the stamp duty holiday has been extended for another three months, meaning people in Chesterfield and the surrounding area will pay no tax on the first £500,000 of purchase prices until the end of June.

After that, the stamp duty threshold will be set at £250,000, double its normal rate, until the end of September – meaning current and potential homeowners across Chesterfield could save thousands of pounds in fees if they complete on a purchase in the next few months.

So whether you're looking for your next family home, or just hoping for some property inspiration, this is the list for you.

These are 13 of the most popular homes currently on the market in and around Chesterfield, according to views on property website Zoopla, which will benefit from the tax break.

Tom Parker, Zoopla consumer spokseman, said: "The most popular homes for sale in Chesterfield cover a range of budgets.

“Given the recent extension of the stamp duty holiday, properties on sale for £250,000 or less will become increasingly popular, as any purchases completed in this price bracket before the end of September will be stamp duty exempt.”
