Expert baker Marion Wright led a masterclass in how to produce the perfect Bakewell Pudding using the original recipe for this baking classic.
Marion, from Bloomers of Bakewell, guided a grouip of eager students in learrning the intricacies of making puff pastry and the historic secrets of creating this local baking masterpiece.
The setting for the masterclass was Hartingtons of Bakewell which held its first ever “Bakewell Pudding Experience” in its converted mill on the banks of the River Wye.
TheThe ‘Bakewell Pudding Experience’ has proved such a hit that the October course has already sold out and there are just a few places left now on a new date just added in September.
Chris Horne of Hartingtons commented: “We originally put on the course as a one-off and a homage to the great baking traditions in the town. However, it’s proved so popular that we have had to put on an extra date in September just to keep up with demand.”
Hartingtons is running their next Bakewell Pudding Experience on September 3.
