Last year, he won the Best Breakthrough and Best Show honours at the Chortle Awards.

In addition to his glowing stand-up career, James has also just filmed a brand new series for BBC Three, titled Sounds Random.

Part-chat show,part-music video, the 15-part series of shorts sees James invite an array of stellar music guests to hit shuffle on their music library and discuss randomly selected tracks from their collections.

Of the series, James said: “This is a fascinating series to film as our guests have no-where to hide, they can’t ignore their guilty pleasures if that’s what the device selects and the emotions that individual songs evoke are evident in their initial reactions as soon as they hear the opening chords.”

James is also well known for his comedy-documentary Sweet Home Kettering in which he visits Lahnstein in Germany, the official twin town of his home town of Kettering, so he can see the whole picture of Kettering and, therefore, himself.

James has also made a host of television appearances including Live at the Apollo and Have I Got News For You (both BBC1), Mock The Week (BBC2), Live from the BBC and Russell Howard’s Good News (both BBC3) and 8 Out Of 10 Cats (Channel 4).

His radio appearances include a regular guest spot on fellow comic Josh Widdicombe’s XFM show and writing and presenting his own show Findings for BBC Radio 4.

In this new show, James finds himself with something to look forward to.

Something he’s always wanted. Something we all want.
