band sets sail for success

Craig, Gaz, Matt, Tom and Alex have been hard at work perfecting their 90s indie sound, as well as recording songs at Sound-Hub Studios in Belper and also planning a music video.

One of the songs they recorded, titled I Used To Like You, can be found on their Soundcloud page on the internet and next month a single will be released on download.

On Friday, March 29, The Piracy will be playing their biggest gig to date at the well-established music venue The Leadmill in Sheffield.

They will be supporting the Chesterfield band The North, who are gaining a massive following at the moment on their new E.P launch.

The Piracy’s lead singer Craig said: “We first met The North lads when we played on the same bill as them at an Indie Wirks night down at The Black Hippo in Matlock.

“We struck up a friendship with them and they have asked us to support them on a few occasions”.

He went on to say: “It’s a real honour to play The Leadmill because so many of our influences have played on that stage - Kasabian, Paul Weller, Oasis and after those names I don’t really have to say any more”.
