Ballet dancers carve out a fairytale show

Dancers are bringing a much-loved fairytale to life on a tour which is heading for Buxton.

Pinocchio is the story of a wooden puppet who has only one wish, the become a real boy.

Follow the cheeky marionette puppet with an unruly nose on his epic quest as he overcomes obstacles, faces consequences and even ends up in the belly of a whale, in order to make his dream come true.

Set to a stunning classical score this original production will delight ballet audiences and families alike and promises to carve a new love for Pinocchio through the magic of classical dance.

Pinocchio will be joined by iconic characters such as Geppetto, The Blue Fairy and Jiminy Cricket, to offer a visually stunning and dreamy production of this classic journey of discovery.

Ballet Theatre UK will be airing their production of Pinocchio at Buxton Opera House on Sunday, June 5.

Local performers will also tread the boards next month as part of Buxton Opera House’s Young Company musical production of The Adams Family (Friday, June 10).
