Actors' moderntake on ancientGreek comedy

Riotous and naughty, Actors of Dionysus are back in Buxton with a revival of their eye-popping, trouser-dropping comedy, Lysistrata.

In a high octane, enjoyable and bang up-to-date take on the ancient Greek classic, follow the heroine Lysistrata and the women of Greece as they find a unique way to stop a bloody war – by denying their men pleasures in the bedroom! As tensions mount, frustration erupts and certain pillars of the community reach bursting point, a battle of sexes ensues to restore peace.

This production of Lysistrata is a David Stuttard adaptation (BBC Radio 4) of Aristophanes’ classic comedy which combines physical theatre, slapstick and circus.
