They added that around 360 people in total have been discharged from the Royal after being treated for Covid-19.

The spokesperson said: “As we start planning for winter, we are urging everyone to support the hospital by helping to prevent cases of infection and their spread.

“Protect others by having your flu jab, wear a face covering in the hospital and while out shopping, wash hands frequently with water and soap for at least 20 seconds – and use sanitiser when water isn’t available.

“Social distancing is still vital, especially in clinical environments, and if you have symptoms that could be Covid-19, flu or diarrhoea and sickness, please don’t come to our hospital or GP surgeries – seek advice about self-isolating, testing and self-care either online or through NHS 111.”

Over the weekend, we reported that Derbyshire’s director of public health reminded people about what they should be doing to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

Dean Wallace said: “If we all stay alert and take sensible precautions, we can prevent the spread of this very contagious virus and all get back to what we love to do more quickly.”
