No new coronavirus deaths in Chesterfield as 55 die across England

Chesterfield’s coronavirus death toll has remained static over the past few days, according to the latest NHS figures.

A total of 130 patients at Chesterfield Royal Hospital have died after testing positive for the deadly bug- however, there have been no new deaths over the past few days.

Across the country a further 55 people with Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in the UK to 43,230.

The figures could be even higher, as they do not always include deaths that happened within care homes or the community.

This week Boris Johnson announced an ease in lockdown restrictions, including the introduction of a ‘one metre plus’ rule.

Pubs, restaurants, hotels and hairdressers are now gearing up to reopen on July 4.

Two households in England will also be able to meet indoors and stay overnight with social distancing is in place.

Mr Johnson warned that the steps were "reversible”.
