Where will I get my coronavirus vaccine in Derbyshire? GPs prepare to rollout Covid-19 jab

The vaccine should help reduce the rates of serious illness, save lives and reduce pressure on the NHS and social care services.

People will be contacted directly by the NHS when it is their turn to receive a vaccination. For most, this will be in the form of a letter from either their GP or the national booking system.

Covid vaccine deployment minister Nadhim Zahawi said he is “very hopeful” everyone in the nine highest-priority groups will be vaccinated by the spring.

Here’s the latest list of currently active sites published by NHS Derby and Derbyshire CCG.

Chesterfield neighbourhoods with the LOWEST rates of Covid-19 infection amid lockdown

All of the Derbyshire sites are managed by primary care networks (PCNs), which are groups of practices working together, often in co-ordination with various other NHS and local authority bodies.

Every site serves patients across the PCN, which covers a much larger area than just the practice hosting the site.

In the case of Derby Arena, five PCNs are co-ordinating the vaccinations through that site.

One other site, Sharley Leisure Centre, is not in an NHS venue but has been modified to meet requirements.

One of the sites, in Long Eaton, is located in Nottinghamshire but is run by a Derbyshire-based PCN.

Some patients on the borders of the county will be covered by GP practices and therefore PCNs based outside of Derbyshire.
