No further further Covid-19 deaths recorded in Chesterfield as 738 more die in England

No further patients have died at Chesterfield Royal Hospital after testing positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.The total number of people who have died at the trust now stands at 59.

Nationally a further 738 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 13,134.

Patients were aged between 32 and 101 years old. 30 of the 738 patients (aged between 34 and 92 years old) had no known underlying health condition.

However, the true number of deaths is thought to be much higher due to the number of people dying in care homes and hospices, that are not included in the figures.

Health secretary Matt Hancock has today admitted the Government unable to promise MPs some hospitals won’t run out of gowns this weekend, though 55,000 were due to arrive today.
