The latest NHS figures show an increase in coronavirus deaths at Chesterfield Royal Hospital after 332 more patients died across the UK.

Two more patients who tested positive for the virus have died in the care of the trust over the past day, bringing the town’s death toll to 93.

Nationally, the death toll in English hospitals stands at 22,764 after 332 more patients died.

The youngest victim was a six-week-old baby with underlying health problems, NHS England said, and the oldest victim was 103.

Around 22 of the 332 patients, aged between 40 and 96 years old, had no known underlying health conditions.

There have now been 1,379 confirmed cases of the virus in Derbyhire and 206,715 across the entirety of the UK, as well as 30,615 deaths.

Boris Johnson is set to address the nation on Sunday, outlining a step-by-step strategy for ‘phase two’ of lockdown.
