Here's the latest figures as coronavirus cases in Derbyshire rise

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Derbyshire has risen to 82, the latest NHS statistics reveal.

That figure is a rise of seven in 24 hours, as the number of cases nationally also rose.

The figures were released by Public Health England on Monday evening as part of their daily breakdown of confirmed cases in each local authority and NHS region.

It is understood that Derby, which has 23 cases, counts as a separate area to the rest of the county on the Public Health England measurement.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital, which last week confirmed it was treating patients who have tested positive for the illness, has introduced visitor restrictions to help contain the spread of Covid-19.

Nationally, there are now 6,650 confirmed cases of coronavirus – up from 4,792 on Sunday.

As of 1pm on 23 March, 335 patients in the UK who tested positive for coronavirus have died.
