A further six patients with Covid-19 die at Chesterfield hospitals

Six patients who had tested positive for Covid-19 have died in Chesterfield hospitals according to the latest statistics.

The most recent data released this afternoon (January 22) from NHS England shows six more patents with the disease died in Chesterfield hospitals bringing the total to 276.

The Government said a further 1,401 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Friday, bringing the UK total to 95,981.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 112,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK.

There have been a further 40,261 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK.

A total of 3,679 hospital admissions of people with Covid-19 in England were reported for January 20, NHS England said.

This is down 4% on the equivalent figure a week ago on January 13.
