The latest fatalities bring the total number of Covid-related deaths at Chesterfield Royal Hospital to 315.

Nationally, a further 767 people who tested positive for the illness have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 72,912.

The patients were aged between 23 and 102 years old. All except 31 – aged 23 to 102 years old – had known underlying health conditions.

A further four coronavirus-related deaths have been recorded in Chesterfield.

On Tuesday it was also announced Sir Captain Tom Moore had passed away with coronavirus.

As of Tuesday, 9.6 million people in the UK have received their first dose of the vaccine, Government data shows.

There were 288 cases per 100,000 people in Chesterfield in the week ending 29 January. The average area in England had 249.
