Covid-19 death toll remains static at Chesterfield Royal Hospital

Most recent NHS England statistics (Wednesday, July 8) confirm there have been no new Covid-19 fatalities reported by Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The total number of patients who have died in Chesterfield hospitals after contracting the virus has remained static, with 131 people said to have died in hospital care since the crisis first hit.

The figures from NHS England this afternoon’s have confirmed that another 42 people have passed away after testing positive for coronavirus while being treated in hospitals across the country, bringing the total up to 28,969.

NHS England stated that 12 deaths which were reported, have been removed from records because they were reported twice ‘in error’.

Patients were aged between 22 and 100 years old and six people had no known underlying health conditions.
