The following numbers for Derbyshire’s lower tier local authorities were released at around 4pm on Saturday.

Amber Valley – 172 confirmed cases

Bolsover – 131 confirmed cases

Derby city – 520 confirmed cases

Derbyshire Dales – 136 confirmed cases

Erewash – 154 confirmed cases

High Peak – 172 confirmed cases

North East Derbyshire – 268 confirmed cases

South Derbyshire – 209 confirmed cases

Throughout the UK, there are currently 215,260 confirmed cases of Covid-19.

A total of 31,587 people have now died in the UK after testing positive for coronavirus.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is due to update the UK on the progress of lockdown measures in a televised address at 7pm.

Among other things, he is expected to unveil a new slogan, telling the public to ‘stay alert, control the virus, save lives’.
