The confirmed COVID-19 case rate stands at 570 in Derbyshire and continues to rise.

Another patient died at Chesterfield Royal Hospital this week after testing positive for COVID-19- bringing the death toll at the site to 15.

The city of Derby is classed as a separate area and currently has 183 confirmed cases.

Across the entirety of the UK, 38,168 have tested positive for COVID-19.

A total of 3,605 people who tested positive have died- an increase of 684 in a single day.

The figures were published by Public Health England as part of its daily breakdown and show that Derbyshire is the 22nd worst-affected UK location for the disease.

The country is now on lockdown, with the Government imposing the following rules to enforce social distancing and help minimise the spread of the virus:

Stay at home

Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (but only if you cannot work from home)

If you go out, stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people at all times

Wash your hands as soon as you get home

Do not meet others, even friends or family.

- You can spread the virus even if you don’t have symptoms
