Chesterfield hospital's Covid-19 death toll nears 200 as one more patient dies

The coronavirus death toll at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is creeping closer to 200, as another patient is confirmed to have died from the virus.

NHS England data released this afternoon (Wednesday, December 16) reveals that one more person has passed away from Covid-19 while being cared for at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

This brings the trust’s total number of virus patient deaths up to 198, since the coronavirus crisis first hit back in March earlier this year.

Across the country, a further 369 people died after contracting the Covid-19, increasing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 45,126.

A total of 104 of these virus related fatalities occurred in healthcare facilities across the Midlands.

The patients who lost their lives between August 4 and December 15 were aged between 40 and 100 years old and all except 13 people had known underlying health conditions.
