The latest data released this afternoon (Saturday, December 12) shows that one more person has died from Covid-19 while being cared for by the town’s hospital trust.

This increases the total number of coronavirus fatalities at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to 195, almost 9 months since the pandemic first hit.

Across England, a further 314 people who tested positive for the virus have died in hospital, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths across the country’s hospital facilities up to 44,126.

The patients who lost their lives to Covid-19 between November 7 and December 11 of this year, were aged between 38 and 102 years old.

All except 11 people who died from the virus were known to suffer from underlying health conditions and their families have been informed.
