The Derbyshire secondary schools that are the hardest to get your child into in 2021

New figures have revealed the most oversubscribed secondary schools in Derbyshire for the next academic year.

Of the applications submitted to Derbyshire County Council for a secondary school place by the closing date, 96.3 per cent of children were given a place at one their preferred schools.

This included 91.2 per cent of children who had their first choice preference met.

Parents unhappy with the decision should have already lodged an appeal, with all cases expected to be heard by June 16.

Figures from Derbyshire County Council have revealed which schools were oversubscribed for the 2021/22 academic year.

At this stage in the admissions process, the figures include all the children who have expressed a preference for a particular school even if they have been offered a higher preference place.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire County Council said: “Until all the offers have been accepted by parents and the appeals process has been completed, it is not really a true reflection of the pressure on places.”
