With Christmas being a very different affair for many this year, Hasland Infant and Nursery School wanted to ensure their children still got to experience some Christmas magic in 2020.
Amanda Daykin, School Business Manager said: “This year due to the current situation we were unable to perform our nativity play and lot of other Christmas events, which was very sad.

“Santa visited the children and gave every child a gift, funds for which were kindly raised by our PTA.
"We also have a large real Christmas tree at the front of school as well as lots of decorations and additional trees inside too.”
Santa’s sleigh was kindly provided by local funeral directors Harold Lilleker & Sons Ltd.

Mr Lilleker explainws: “This year has been dreadful for the children, so we wanted to help give them a little bit of normality.
"We contacted the school who were keen to get involved, so everything was organised for an open-air, COVID-secure visit in the playground.”
He added: "The kids absolutely loved it.”
Many schools have organised special Christmas events for their pupils this year as a treat after a difficult year due to the ongoing coronavirus restrictions.
