Heath Primary School will welcome the 200m British Olympian to their site on Slack Lane on Tuesday, October 5.

Beth, who works with Sports For Champions UK (CIC), will visit the children of Heath Primary to help them as they recover and rebuild after all the turmoil of Covid-19 and the national lockdowns.

She will start by leading each class in a fitness circuit to show the pupils how anyone – no matter their current fitness levels – can take that first step and achieve their goals, with the students each completing four exercises such as leg drives, full or half press ups and star jumps, just to get their hearts beating.

Afterwards, Beth will deliver a motivational talk, discussing her personal journey into sport and the obstacles she overcame during his career, as well as mentioning the benefits of exercise, good nutrition and the physical and mental rewards of being fit and active.

She will then give the pupils a demonstration of her sporting ability and showcase the medals that she has won throughout her career.

Richard O’Hara, Communications Manager at Sports for Champions, said: “With Children’s mental health in the forefront of the public’s hearts, there’s never been a more important time to take action and inspire young people to lead a healthy lifestyle.

"Children today face a barrage of obstacles – from convenience food to the constant temptation of screen time – which prevents them from being able to undertake and enjoy regular exercise.

"This is why I believe Beth’s visit to Heath Primary School is even more important at this time of their lives while they have the opportunity to change or improve their health and well-being”

Sports for Champions’ mission is to visit every school in the UK with their team of professional athletes to inspire children to lead a healthy lifestyle.

All athletes are unsponsored with schools fundraising for their athlete’s visit and for money to invest in more sporting equipment.
