Sunnybank Nursery, in Calow, received an award from the leading day nurseries reviews site, daynurseries.co.uk, with the award based on reviews from families and carers of children at the nursery.

It was up against more than 900 other early years settings from across the East Midlands region, all of which were rated on overall standard, facilities and outside space, learning, resources and equipment and ICT, care, activities, staff, food and nutrition, management, cleanliness, safeguarding as well as value for money.

Sunnybank Nursery, which was rated as outstanding by Ofsted in 2019, said it is ‘delighted’ to be one of the Top 20 Nurseries in the East Midlands.

Sunnybank Nursery, in Calow, has been named among the Top 20 nurseries in the East Midlands

A spoksperson said: “This reflects the hard work and commitment of our team, who constantly strive for excellence in nurturing our children.

"We were established in 1993 and have always worked closely with parents, the local community and partner agencies. We aim to continue to be an outstanding nursery, with a warm and friendly atmosphere.”

The awards are based on over 57,000 reviews received between May 29, 2019, and May 28, 2021, from parents, relatives and guardians of children who attend the nurseries.

Amanda Hopkins, reviews manager of daynurseries.co.uk, said: “We would like to congratulate Sunnybank Nursery on being rated by parents as a top nursery in the East Midlands!

"Being chosen as one of the best nurseries in the UK by family and carers of children that attend the setting is a massive achievement.

“The past year has been a huge challenge for nurseries, many of whom were offering childcare to vulnerable and keyworker children during the various lockdowns and giving

children that all important ‘normality’.

“We hope these awards will boost the spirits of nursery staff who have been through such a lot and give parents vital guidance in choosing the right nursery for their child.

“Reviews of our Top 20 nurseries show these settings stimulate and nurture children, improving their social and emotional wellbeing and enhancing their learning.”

Kids Planet Day Nurseries, in North Wingfield, also made the daynurseries.co.uk Top 20 list for the East Midlands.
