Retailing retro chic

Teresa and Suzanne Whittaker have opened Bella Figura in Smedley Street, Matlock.

The girls, both from Matlock, each bring something different to the business, which specialises in selling vintage clothes and accessories.

Teresa explained: “I studied history at university. I worked in museums for a long time and I’ve always had an interest in vintage clothes.

Suzanne added: “I studied fashion and couture.

“We’ve got a selection of original vintage and vintage inspired clothing.

“We can also alter vintage clothes or make them to order.”

Bella Figura is Italian for ‘beautiful figure’.

“A lot of vintage designs were really flattering and the name relates to that,” Teresa continued.
