New store opens in Peaks village
A new supermarket and cafe opened in a Peak District village at the weekend, providing jobs for 18 local people.
The SPAR store and cafe opened on Sunday with the design of a farm shop featuring in–store departments supplied by local businesses including Castlegate Farm, Chatsworth Brewery, Smyllies Fruit and Vegetables and Newclose Farmshop.
Owner and independent retailer Edward White commented: “I am really proud of the top–quality products from local suppliers we can offer our customers, with everything from fruit and veg to regional wine. I am looking forward to welcoming customers both old and new to the store.”
