New store has opened

A new charity shop has opened up in a prime position in Matlock Bath.

The shop, which will help raise funds for the National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline, was launched by Wendy Watson on Friday.

It takes the place of the former Gifts Galore shop in South Parade, which has been empty for months.

Wendy, of Over Haddon, near Bakewell, was Britain’s first woman to have both breasts removed in order to avoid developing breast cancer, which runs in her family. She founded the National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline, which to date has helped thousands of women.
