New housing development formally open

Olympian Way is a set of 33 homes built on the former Cobb Slater site off the A6 in Darley Dale.

The development, a mixture of affordable rented houses and flats, as well as shared ownership homes, was opened by winter Olympian Ellie Koyander.

The scheme was funded by Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA), the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Derbyshire Dales District Council (DDDC). Building works were taken care of by Westleigh Developments.

Derbyshire Dales District Council Leader Councillor Lewis Rose said: “Enabling affordable housing for local people remains the district council’s number one priority and we are delighted to have invested into this scheme, using contributions from private sector developments.

“The district council is grateful to NCHA and Westleigh Developments for their continued desire to provide new affordable homes in the Derbyshire Dales.

“This imaginative redevelopment of the former Cobb Slater site will play its part in tackling housing need in this area of the Dales.”
