New head of trustees at hospice

A new chairman of trustees has been appointed at a Chapel-en-le-Frith hospice.

After five years, Bill Preece has stepped down from the position at Blythe House and passed over the role to Tim Mourne.

Mr Preece will remain on the board of trustees, but intends to spend more time in his home town of St Davids, while maintaining his links in the High Peak.

He said: “It was a privilege to be the chair during a period of successful growth in our services, resources and financial security, and I’m delighted to be able to hand over to Tim Mourne, who will be a capable and dedicated chairman to steer us through the many challenges in coming years.”

In a statement, Blythe House paid tribute to Mr Preece for his time, commitment, expertise and support.

The hospice provides holistic care and support for people living with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses.
