The Whittington Moor restaurant is one of 40 Burger King outlets reopening this week after closing on March 23 because of Government restrictions during the coronavirus lockdown.

The outlet will be operating on reduced opening times of 12noon-8pm for takeaway orders – with customers also able to order via both Just Eat and Deliveroo if they don’t want to leave home.

The Brimington Road restaurant, located just off the A61 and Whittington Moor roundabout, says it will also be operating on a reduced menu ‘for the time being’.

Store manager Lisa Davies told the Derbyshire Times that a series of safety measures had been introduced prior to the resturant’s reopening.

“The store is all social distance marked in both our customer and kitchen areas to protect both our teams and the returning public,” Lisa said.

“There is also a one-way social distancing queuing system, and we will be offering a reduced contact payment procedure.

Katie Evans, marketing director at Burger King UK, said: “We are so pleased to be able to open more restaurants this week and slowly but surely get back to ‘normal’, ensuring all safety measures are in place.”
