Die Fledermaus, a light- hearted opera with themes of love, laughter and sweet- hearted revenge has a long tradition of appearances by special guests at the prince’s ball. The tradition was started by Strauss himself and since then the ball has welcomed many guests including Joan Sutherland and Griff-Rhys Jones.

The production by Ellen Kent and Opera & Ballet International is set in 19th century Vienna and combines a cast of colourful characters with some of opera’s most popular musical moments.

Sung in English, the show will include some scenes from the Russian Die Fledermaus which are unique to this production.
