Review: The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes at Bolsover Castle
This original piece written by, and for, Chapterhouse Theatre Company is based on the legends of Newcastle’s ghosts. The paranormal and eerie adaptation sees Sherlock and Dr Watson investigate a series of seemingly mystical murders.
Echoing Conan Doyle’s style, Sherlock used his quirks and intellect to try and disprove rumours of ghosts and vampires and to uncover the mysteries of the Newcastle dock victims.

Chapterhouse have often blessed Bolsover Castle with excellent outdoor shows. Always a perfect setting, and the recent renovations around the fountain garden made this venue extra special.
Please do make sure you all put August 29 in your diaries, I promise you won’t be disappointed when the theatre company returns with The Jungle Book. If you can’t wait that long, try Wuthering Heights at nearby Creswell Crags on July 30.
