Jason Donovan to star in Prscilla, Queen of the Desert at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal

Singer and actor Jason Donovan will star in a new production of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert which opens at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal on 22nd July for a week-long run.

He will appear alongside Richard Grieve (who plays Bernardette). Richard is perhaps best known for his role as Jonny Foster in Emmerdale.

Based on the smash-hit movie, the award-winning musical tells the story of three friends who jump on board a battered old bus searching for love and friendship - but end up finding more than they could have hoped for.

The show features an array of outrageous costumes and a dancefloor favourites including It’s Raining Men, Say a Little Prayer, Go West, Hot Stuff and Always on My Mind.

The musical originally opened in Australia in 2006 where it ran for two years before opening in the West End for a run of a further two years. The show also enjoyed a successful run on Broadway. It has won a host of awards including Olivier and Tony Awards for Best Costume Design.
